Behind the scenes - Norsea Clothing look book photo shoot.

I was recently fortunate enough to be asked along to the Wayside Flower look book shoot featuring a collection of clothing by the brand Norsea.

Norsea clothing produces beautifully designed and mainly put together by the highly talented Steve who has spent 20 years in the industry working for top British labels and a further 6 years at college learning the art of fabric and such skills as pattern cutting, enabling him to developing his own brand which has allowed him to work from home in his studio. Each garment can take up to 3 or more days to produce.

Certain pieces of Steve's work are influenced by the fishing industry which is such a big part of  the village he was raised, Flamborough. My favourites where the pure wool handmade Gansy’s, the original type of fisherman's jumper which has distinctive cabling and design for different regions. Traditionally these regional jumpers were earned, not bought so we are fortunate in that there’s a supplier of these unusual and somewhat rare garment.

After the commercial shoot in the studio and house of Steve and Natalie (owner of Wayside Flower) amazing characterful house we went down the road to North Landing which hosts the only other white cliffs in England alongside Dover, a perfect place for the rest of the shoot.

Everyone working hard.

Thankfully the weather wasn't on top form on the day of the shoot as it was done in the middle of summer and we needed it to be overcast to suit the english sea themed shoot, for once the weather did what it was supposed to do. After 5 hours of a great shoot I was definitely ready for some food and cuppa.

Loved these personalised russian dolls so much I had to take a picture, how unique are these little guys?

Thank you to Wayside Flower for having me and Walker & Walker for letting me share their space.

Thank you for reading if you enjoyed please leave a comment and don't forget to subscribe.

Autumn Haul

Autumn is officially here and for the first time it actually feels like Autumn and not straight into winter meaning this year I've actually being interested in shopping for the  this lovely season.

I've got so many items on my wish list this year and there not all cheap, making it hard to allow myself to buy them. However, recently I came to the conclusion that it's quality not quantity within my wardrobe and I've gone off a lot of my clothes, the ones I still like are the ones I spent a little more on. They have also been the items to keep their shape and colour.

Although you can never pass up a bargain I'm making sure I spend my money wisely on items that I will definitely get plenty of wear out of as well as having items that already go with it, so this week I quickly dropped into Meadow Hall and started a bit of autumn / winter shopping and knowing hauls are popular in the blogosphere thought I'd give it a whirl.

PRIMARK - £6.00

Bringing me to my first purchased item from Primark is this lovely light weight jumper which I'm going to be wearing over vests and long sleeved tops just as an extra layer now it's getting colder and it will do for next summer too, over a bikini on summer nights.

PRIMARK - £1.50

My second item from primark was this cute hair tie you put around your top knot, bun or pony tail. I've seen a few very similar versions of this hair decoration and this one from Primark is defiantly my favourite and cheapest so you can't go wrong, also the shade of red on the rose isn't to bright and will match my Kate Moss 107 lipstick beautifully. I thought this would look nice on days when I want to look like I've made an effort with my hair and not that I can't be bothered.. which could well be everyday.

ZARA - £19.99

I've heard a lot of people raving about these ZARA leggings and loving to wear leggings in the colder months I had to go out and buy them and they really are worth it, they're comfortable, haven't gone baggy yet and are quite thick (as in you won't be walking around with your pants on display). The waist is a big elasticated band and has two for show zipper pockets on the front for detail and down the side of each leg have jogger style pannels, I got mine in the dark gray but they are available in black and navy blue, I'm hoping for a dark green.

TIMBERLANDS - £160

Finally I splurged on these Timberlands that I've being eyeing up for a while and deciding whether I could manage to pull them off. I went to my nearest Timberlands store to try a few on and found a slightly different design to the original style. These Timberlands have being realeased this year for the Timberlands 40th anniversary and think the chestnutty colour of the leather is actually much more my style along with the suede laces and will go with more of my outfits. So far they haven't left my feet!

Vintage Fair

Hello my readers, on this lazy Sunday afternoon that I'm writing this on I wanted to share with you a slice of summer. I've been meaning to get around to posting this for a couple of weeks, now I have found the time to write up a short piece about the vintage fair I attended and thought it's something for you to have a quick read of while, if like myself you're also sat in front of the fire with a cup of tea.

Earlier this year the advintageous vintage fair came to my town held in a local theatre. Being interested mainly in vintage home wear I went along and I enjoyed it so much I thought the second time around I would photograph some of what was there for you to see. This event is great fun to attend and you really should go yourselves if one comes to your town. As I approached the entrance, I was greeted by the sight of a collection of beautiful vintage cars, ranging from Bentleys and Rolls Royces to Austin Minis and ambulances. Once inside there were a range of amazing stalls filled with kitsch and unusual items, from home wears, vintage HiFi to racks of clothing and jewellery, you could even get your hair cut and styled with a vintage theme, it's really worth going, just to see whats there.

Sorry about the lack of photos, a combination of overriding personal interest, heatwave temperatures and slightly deficient camera battery meant there weren't a huge amount taken.

Thanks for reading.

September Monthly Favourites

Welcome to my first monthly favourites, I've been keeping note of some of my favourite things I've discovered and re-discovered this September within beauty, gaming and a new found hobby to share with you all. So lets get to it!

Bodyshop's Squeaky Clean Tea Tree Scrub
Starting with a product I first tried out about 2 months ago as I had a few bad spots and wanted to try something natural that wasn't going to irritate my skin further. I came across this scrub while out shopping and decided to give it a go as the Body Shop is known for sourcing fine ingredients for each of their products. I have literally used this everyday since I bought it and it's great for removing all the grease from your face without drying your skin out, using micro-fine exfoliants with bursting beads to help unclog your pores and it won't rob your bank at small cost of £6.50 it lasts a long time for the size as I'm still on the same tube I started out with. It has minimised and taken away the majority of my spots.

Boots Essentials Facial Exfoliating Sponge
A great item for a great price, you can't go wrong with this purchase. It's great for taking away the dead skin cells without damaging your skin and so satisfying when see what comes off your face. All you need to do is use it with your favourite facial wash, scrub, I'm currently using it with the Bodyshop squeaky clean tea tree scrub, then dampen the sponge and in circular motions gently exfoliate and rise off making your skin super soft! Its fragrance free and suitable for all skin types too, which is great for me as I have quite sensitive skin.

Maybelline Baby Lips
Recently baby lips has become available to buy in the UK so after all the hype I had to try them out. The packaging is very enticing with the bright exciting colours and each balm a different sort of moisturising or care benefit along with flavour which is really why I love wearing them for the taste. I found the application of the balm very surprising as I expected quite a heavy sticky texture left on my lips but it was completely opposite, a thin layer that glides onto the lips like silk which leaves behind a sheer gloss. Baby lips does however claim 8 hours of hydration, which I'm not sure of, maybe if you didn't speak but the lasting power for me personally makes it to 3 hours which I think isn't too shabby for £2.99 each they are worth having to stash in your handbag and a quick cure for dry lips. To sum it up they're cheap, fun, taste and smell great, I'm hooked and will be purchasing more if they release more into the UK drugstores.

Sally Hansen Advanced HARD AS NAILS.
This product is pretty much self explanatory as in its a strengthening formula for your nails. I bought this product a few months ago now and apply it at the beginning of every week to strengthen my nails for work, the application is just like painting your nails and the formula's so thin its almost like water and so far has never chipped as it seem to become a part of your nail almost not like a nail varnish. You apply the strengthener before your base coat 2-3 coats. Since buying this product I have seen major improvements to the length of my nails and they are actually getting a chance to grow before getting caught and having to be cut down. I feel much more girly now I have nails instead of stubs and as you can see from the picture it lasts ages.

Square Mile Roasters - Kilimanjaro
So the Kilimanjaro crop of bean only comes around once a year and this year half of the farmers crop was affected by a disease called rust, making this roast gold dust. With this in mind I made sure I got my fill of it, my favourite way to drink this was through Aeropress which for some of you who don't know is a relatively new brewing method using a vacuum of pressure which forces water through the coffee making the brew, watch the video linked to see how it works. This technique of brewing is my favourite for this delicious coffee as it makes the brew very balanced and bursting with strawberries and cream flavours, that's the way I like it. (ah ha ah ha)

Dove summer glow
As the sun began to shine less each day my natural tan began to fade too, I had seen this product on the shelf's of my local Boots store and decided to give it another go after previously using it a few year back and finding it really streaky. I decided to go for the medium to dark shade as I like to see results fast and my knowledge of this products previous history with the light shade I could hardly tell the difference after 3 applications. After using this product I can happily say its improved and no longer leaves streaks, it fades equally and lasts a few days if you don't keep re-applying the gradual tan, I am currently applying it everyday for 3 days then every other day and let it fade and start again.

Crochet
I'm not going to lie your going to think what a granny but whatever its all the range.. and this month I've gone mad for crocheting after being inspired by Bubblegarm 's blog and constant amazing creations to make my own blanket from granny squares before the end of winter and a few lessons on Youtube I finally understood how this crocheting business works. If your interested in learning yourself how to crochet this particular Youtuber was very helpful and videoed it slow enough and clear enough to see how to do it, don't be put off if you don't get it straight away as soon as you do get the hang of it its really easy. For my blanket I've gone for quite simple colours of white for the plain squares and peach for popcorn crochet squares.

GTA V
Everyone has heard about it and I'm here to tell you its true, ITS AMAZING! I wasn't about to tell my boyfriend he couldn't play on it 5 hours a day because I wanted to play on it 5 hours a day! I can't seem to keep away from it, even just watching the game play is like watching a movie. Rockstar have done a great job the graphics on PS3 are amazing, the storyline to which you play 3 different characters each have very different back ground stories and personalities especially Trevor's unique personality whom I have become fond of, he really makes me laugh and its a great way to pass the time on these rainy days and wintery nights especially with Cara Delevingne acting as a radio DJ for 'NONE STOP POP FM' within the game. If your into gaming and haven't bought this you need to and you wont regret it.
